  • Vietnam part 1

Mr Bear's birthday on the day of departure, so I had arranged with the hotel personnel in advance on the surprise meant to 'surprise' him :)

On the day of departure at Budget Terminal - first time there... it's like, nothing totally...

reached Saigon. On the VinaSun taxi. Remember to take the 'authentic' taxi as there are a lot of scams out there, some of the meter will jump faster than normal.

Mr Bear's surprise flowers :) happy birthday!

    the lovely creation done up

    I felt so touched.. haha!

    <3

OMG! he used that opportunity... the surprise within the surprise :)

    together hand in hand

the horrendous traffic - it takes skills to cross the road cos there's traffic rules there

our dinner - seafood at Ben Thanh market is cheap and good! this plate of seafood beehoon is like S$3-4!

hotpot! huge serving... we did not know, and kinda over-ordered... but it's cheap.

the pomelo we bought for 10,000 VND

5 litres of mineral water for only 50,000 VND!

    Stayed at backpackers' area.

Blue River Hotel - it's more like a B&B than hotel, but their customer service is fab!

Our breakfast on the 2nd day

    their french baguette

On the Mekong Delta. The aunty making traditional rice papers and making into coconut candies.

Bach Bang - the icecream restaurant that is 5 stories high and has another stall in the next lane.
Lots of people on a saturday night eating the icecream!

Must try the durian and coconut icecream - fantastic and super thick!

  • October loves *Part II*

I think I am enjoying life too much of late.

Not that I wanted to, but it happened ever since my birthday week (where I got to work continuously for both weekends )

First was dim sum buffet with Mr Bear's family at TPY Fortunate restaurant on 24th Oct. It was so fabulous just having dim sum and somehow, broadened my knowledge (shan't say too much :P) The next day was work, but had the fortune of Mr Bear waiting for me till I ended work, and we walked around Jurong Point! Had a mini birthday celebration with him at Billy Bombers :)

    yummy dimsum

Then, it was celebration on Monday with PK, Jamie, and Amy. YC couldn't make it that day, but still appreciative of what u guys did. A simple dinner at Mushroom Pot just warms the heart. The following day was my actual day!! Cos of certain meeting and roadshow etc, I have to rush for presentation and couldn't take leave. My colleagues had planned in advance to celebrate on that day with me and the whole group of us, including my bosses and the boss bosses went for...  1-for-1 lunch buffet at Traders Hotel. The buffet spread was good, a mix of fusion. Dessert was great and I could never have enough. Best of all, got a surprise when I saw the cake with the written message.. It sounds so personalised, and looks very pretty!!

That day dinner was with KL at Hotel Miramar, the Ikoi restaurant. It was known for its japanese buffet and sashimi. And I have to admit, the sashimi is fantastic!

When I reached home, I got another surprise, the birthday cake! Remember that early October, my colleagues bought the October babies the guanaja cake from Rive Gauche (one of my loves). On my birthday, sis bought me a blueberry cheesecake from... Hilton Hotel.

Actually I never tried their cheesecake before, but she heard that the review of theirs is one of the fab amongst the fab. So having said that, we tried and tasted. Indeed, the cheesecake is rich, yet does not leave a cheesy aftermath taste in your mouth. The whole texture is pretty smooth, and it just seems to melt in your mouth!

The man bought me the Longchamp Planètes Clutch, my different groups of colleagues got me bright pink Nike sports bra (just in time for aerobics!) and angpow each, brother got me a beautiful huge box and a Stitch which he spent dunno-how-long-to-catch-at-the-machine, sis and her beau got me bikini and Hilton cheesecake which is so smooth and yummlicious, the sec sch babes got me a FEVO card. And of cos, my mum gave ang pow:))

Not forgetting all the messages and SMSes received from everyone...

Thank u peeps! I feel the love!

First week of November saw me at lunch buffet with colleagues at Pan Pacific @ Claymore. Just today, I had another buffet at Carousel (Royal Plaza on Scotts) for my course seminar.... Buffet-ing too much! Gonna control my cholestrol level! Too much of tai-tai life :\ I need to return to the once simple and carefree life, will be going back to a simple life next week. Vietnam.... :)

P/S: more reviews on the food later... maybe i should start a food blog... hahaha!

3 Oct: My samsung omnia phone died on me! Spent the weekend trying to revive it back, but to no avail  ended up with LG Icecream and 200bucks gone just like that. Damn.

October will be a busy month, packed with planning for 2 friend's wedding/rom, and birthday celebrations, company's event, and chionging for driving lessons (increase to 3 times a week due to limited time)

I will survive! Looking forward to the November Vietnam trip (post-dated for my and his birthday celebration)!

More to be updated, at a later date

  • Love Song for #1

Goldheart advert with Fann and Christopher

In the twinkling stars that dance like fireflies
In the blushing fruit that hangs upon the vine
In the face of a baby as he forms his first smile
    I see you

In the whisper of the wind's soft lullaby
In the laughter and the roar of the rushing tide
In the song of a sparrow as he takes his first flight
    I hear you

Why do you hide among the nameless and forgotten
Why do you walk along these long forsaken roads
Calling to me in the hungry and the homeless
Calling me to water your thirst

So I'll give you my heart and my song
In a world where so much is right
    But so much is wrong
Your love is my beginning and I know it won't be too long
    Till I see you

Why do you hide among the nameless and forgotten
Why do you walk along these long forsaken roads
Calling to me in the hungry and the homeless
Calling me to water your thirst

So I'll give you my heart and my song
In a world where so much is right
    But so much is wrong
Your love is my beginning and I know it won't be too long
Till I see you, I hear you, I love you
